Diamond Estate is one of the few watch buyers in the country which regularly deals in expensive timepieces for women, including high-jewelry watches from luxury makers like Piaget, Cartier, and Chaumet. Below we highlight a few of the luxury watches for women that we buy from the public, and are popular on the marketplace.
We Buy Vacheron Constantin: Metiers d’Art Florilege
One luxury watch collection quite deliberately aimed at the women’s market is Vacheron Constantin’s Metiers d’Art Florilege. As a tribute to the 19th century English botanical illustrations from Robert Thornton’s Temple of Flora, the elaborately decorated collection combines the crafts of guilloché, (precisely repeated intricate patterns), enamelling, and gem setting. Together, the techniques combine to create dials with an amazing sense of depth and perspective in their detail.
This absolutely stunning three watch collection includes The White Lily, The Queen, and The China Limodoron. Each piece features an 18 carat white gold case with 64 round-cut diamonds set in the bezel, and Vacheron-Constantin’s in-house produced caliber 4400 movement.
Rolex has long been synonymous with luxury timepieces, and the Rolex Lady-Datejust 28 is a standout timepiece for women. Originally offered in the mid 1950s, the Lady-Datejust was reintroduced in 2015, and one model now features a chocolate-colored dial complemented by diamond hour markers.
The exceptional attention to detail in gem-setting, including precise alignment of the height of the gems, their orientation and position, as well as their proportion, are a strong compliment to the exquisite metalwork.
The Lady-Datejust 28 is offered in Rolex’s own patented “Everose Gold,” a pink gold alloy, as well as a range of other metals and bracelets, including a bezel set with 44 brilliant cut diamonds. Some models feature hands and hour markers treated with Chromalight, Rolex’s luminescent paint that glows blue in the dark. The date numeral is enlarged by the Rolex’s signature Cyclops lens at the nine o’clock position.
While not technically a “ladies watch,” A. Lange & Sohne’s Saxonia Thin is part of a greater truth about contemporary women’s watches: women can wear almost any watch they like. While the 40 mm case diameter might seem a bit large, the ultra-thin, 5.9 mm depth more than makes up for the ‘large’ case size.
A masterpiece of understated simplicity, the Saxonia Thin features the in-house caliber L093.1, the thinnest ever produced by Lange. The beautiful, solid silver argenté dial; the faceted rhodium gold, baton-shaped hour indexes; and the rhodium gold hour and minute hands, only add elegance to this distinctive German dress watch.
Available in pink or white gold, this superbly simple time-only watch represents Bauhaus design at its finest.
Graff offered its first mechanical watch for women only a few years ago. But the diamond jeweler has exceeded all expectations in the women’s luxury watch market with its Floral Tourbillon collection. Combining the skills of its watch division in Geneva with its jewelry atelier in London, Graff spent over 2500 hours in the design and development of these exceptional timepieces.
The floral motif is used throughout: the delicately intricate tourbillon cage, located between the five and six o’clock positions, is in the shape of a flower. Three highly stylized, fully blooming flowers on the dial rotate individually to the beat of the movement, and are highlighted with marquise cut precious stones (rubies, emeralds, sapphires, or diamonds).
The hour and minute hands also echo the floral motif, with the hands themselves in petal shapes.
We Buy Van Cleef & Arpels Watches: Ballerine Enchantee
Another ladies luxury watch that combines fine jewelry design with in-house haute horlogerie is Van Cleef and Arpels’ Ballerine Enchantee. Featuring a translucent and champleve enamel ballerina on a blue guilloché dial, the feminine figure morphs into a butterfly with the touch of a slide on the side of the case.
With the activation of the time on demand feature, the outer veils of the tutu become butterfly wings that rise to indicate hours and minutes, remaining in place long enough to read the time before returning back to their initial positions.
This wonderfully complex double retrograde movement is housed in a 40.5 mm white gold case set with diamonds.
The Blancpain Day Night is a truly innovative timepiece, featuring a dial made entirely of mother of pearl, divided into three parts on four levels, with the day/night disk at the center of attention. The disk itself turns twice per day, with each rotational change lasting about four minutes.
The finishings on the disk are a tour-de-force of craftsmanship, and include décalque, champlevé, and marquetage techniques. The rotating disk depicts a night and day motif with gemset sun and moon. Fourteen diamond stars and pearl clouds accents compliment the 50 yellow sapphires of the sun and 50 diamonds of the moon. The bezel is also set with two rows of diamonds — 140 in total.
Unique to this timepiece is way the retrograde indications, seconds and hours, are combined with the minute hand. Minutes are displayed by a hand that sweeps continuously over its circle of rotation. When it completes its sixty minute transit, the second hand is retrograding — it too has completed its arc and returns instantly to its starting point to begin its sweep again. In a similar way, the hour hand retrogrades twice per day, also in sync with the minute hand.
First introduced in 1967, Cartier’s now iconic Crash watch is famous for its asymmetrical, practically surrealistic case and dial — a shape based on an accidentally melted Cartier Bagnoire that was once returned to Cartier. In its latest iteration, the Crash case is sculpted out of platinum, with skeletonized Roman numerals that appear to melt along with the case itself.
Blue sword shaped hour and minute hands, as well as a blue, cabochon-cut sapphire on the crown are further hallmarks that make the watch instantly recognizable as Cartier. The movement, caliber 9618 MC, is equally unique, built specifically to fit the case.
The term ‘horology” is broadly defined as “the study of timekeeping,” though in modern usage, the term usually refers to the study of mechanical timepieces. For those who are drawn to the technical brilliance involved in fine watchmaking, and appreciate the unparalleled aesthetics of a finely crafted watch, the moniker “horologist” only begins to describe the almost romantic appeal of a fine timepiece. There are many books available on the subject. In the following, we’ll take a look at our favorites for the true watch aficionado.
Watchmaking by George Daniels
Recognized as the greatest watchmaker in his lifetime, George Daniels might have been expected to write a book as technical and complex as his craftsmanship. But in his seminal volume, Watchmaking, great pains are taken to keep the layman from being overwhelmed with an enormously complex subject.
This well illustrated book is more than just a step by step guide — it is designed to encourage interest in the subject, and inspire a new generation in the fine art of watchmaking. Each aspect of constructing a fine timepiece is carefully described, and precise line drawings with captions complement the text throughout.
For anyone with an interest that goes deeper than the case of a fine timepiece, Watchmaking is an easy-to-follow explication of how a mechanical watch is constructed, and the deeper understanding gained by reading it will surely add to an appreciation of the subject.
Masters of Contemporary Watchmaking by Michael Clerizo
Focusing on the story of how traditional watchmaking survived the nearly fatal introduction of quartz technology in the 1970s, Masters of Contemporary Watchmaking chronicles the renaissance of the mechanical watch and the group of craftsmen responsible for saving the nearly 500 year old traditions.
Featuring hundreds of illustrations of watchmaking virtuosi, this beautiful volume is a must have for collectors interested in the story of the modern mechanical watch. Among the many craftsmen featured from Europe and the United Kingdom is the renowned George Daniels, inventor of the coaxial escapement made famous in Omega watches.
In addition to his story, major interviews with other modern masters include Vincent Calabrese of Italy; Marco Lang of Germany; Philippe Dufour, Antoine Preziuso and Franck Muller of Switzerland; and Roger Smith of England. Many other craftsmen from workshops throughout Europe and the UK are introduced and illustrated as well.
Focusing on watches that have commanded a minimum of $200,000 in the last decade, Ariel Adams presents some of the most collectible, extravagant, and interesting modern day timepieces. With essays that include intricate descriptions of individual watches, the author chronicles not simply the piece’s construction and complexities, but also how it became so valuable.
By considering ephemeral aspects like the prestige of a particular brand, its exclusivity and collectability, Mr. Adams shows how prices for particular timepieces have soared in recent years. In addition to contemporary watches, the author includes a section on historically relevant references, many of which have commanded well over $5 million dollars.
Lange & Söhne: Great Timepieces from Saxony by Reinhard Meis
Written by one of the most important horological scholars of our time, A. Lange & Söhne: Great Timepieces from Saxony is a two volume set that is more than simply an informative text on the brand. This set serves as the definitive history of not just the storied manufacturer, but also the history of watchmaking in Glashütte, the renowned watchmaking center and birthplace of the German watchmaking industry.
Meis’ exemplary scholarship chronicles the history of the region through the lens of A. Lange & Söhne, and includes technical data on Glashütte watchmaking, the difficulties of the war years, and closure and re-establishment of the company after German reunification. This in-depth piece of scholarship will appeal not just to serious collectors of A. Lange & Söhne, but any serious watch enthusiast.
To sell a watch from A. Lange & Söhne contact Diamond Estate’s watch buyers today for an immediate appraisal and cash offer.
Featuring the most important 100 watches of the 20th century, this impeccably produced coffee table art book is more than just a collection of beautifully photographed timepieces. Nicholas Foulkes has included the major families of watches, as well as a few individually remarkable pieces like Eric Clapton’s Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronograph.
Each featured timepiece is analyzed individually in Mr. Foulkes trademark style, and readers will gain sense of how the timepiece fits into the history of horlogerie. Suitable for beginners looking for a stunning introduction to important wristwatches, this beautiful volume also contains a few rare watches that may not be known even to experienced collectors.
Rolex: History, Icons and Record-Breaking Models by Mara Cappelletti and Osvaldo Patrizzi

Rolex: History, Icons and Record-Breaking Models is a comprehensive look into both the watches and the special cache of the brand. Including essays of both technical and historical interest, with in-depth descriptions of the most iconic models, the authors cover the roots of the brand, and show how Rolex capitalized on the technology to become one of the most iconic brands of all time.

The History of Watches by David Thompson
The History of Watches is collaboration between British Museum Horological curator David Thompson and prize winning photographer Saul Peckham. It’s a comprehensive overview of timepieces from the last 500 years. From sixteenth century stackfreed watches through decorative timepieces from the seventeenth century, precision chronometers of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, all the way through mass produced watches of the late 20th century, each time period’s watches are painstakingly described and beautifully photographed.
Individual manufacturers from Europe and the United States are represented, including all the great Swiss brands, as well as German Glashütte watchmaking. Beautifully photographed and expertly written, The History of Watches is an essential reference for any watch lover.
Ultimate Daytona by Pucci Papaleo
Focused tightly on one single model in the long and colorful history of Rolex watchmaking, Pucci Papaleo’s Ultimate Daytona is by far the definitive volume on a definitive timepiece. It also is a collectible work of art itself. At 608 pages, the volume weighs in at 27 pounds, and features over 2,000 photographs of over 120 Cosmographs. Each individual watch is subjected to intense scrutiny and described in careful detail.
Painstakingly photographed using a proprietary technique that makes the subject appear to float above the page, Ultimate Daytona features a level of descriptive and photographic detail that is simply unparalleled in any volume on any timepiece. Like the watch it chronicles, Ultimate Daytona is a unique masterpiece.
Moonwatch Only: The Ultimate Omega Speedmaster Guide by Gregoire Rossier and Anthony Marquie
Compiled by an aerospace engineer and a research biologist, Moonwatch Only is more than just a history of the fabled timepiece. It is a meticulously researched and complete description of one of the most loved watches of all time. Vaulted into its heavenly status by NASA, when the Speedmaster was chosen as a tool for astronauts, the aptly named Moonwatch occupies a place like no other in the history of modern timepieces.
Moonwatch Only presents a complete overview in a systematic approach, with photographs and descriptions of individual watches, as well as a flowchart to help identify any model. Of interest to any horologist, Moonwatch only is a must have for any Speedmaster collector.
For anyone fascinated by the chronograph, this three volume set is by far the most comprehensive treatment of the subject. Using a team of like-minded chronograph aficionados, Paul White assembled a remarkable collection of rare and valuable chronographs over a ten year period by haunting estate sales, auctions, and the inventories of private dealers. The resulting assembly of timepieces is truly remarkable in both its content and scope.
While everyday collectors will pour over rare examples from well-known brands like Patek Philippe and Rolex, true lovers of the chronograph will delight in the details of lesser valuable, lesser known brands. Conveniently arranged by type and brand, the text includes an extensive treatment of the history of military chronographs as well.

I’m so happy that I found this amazing jeweler! The easiest and fastest transaction I’ve had. I sold my Cartier Roadster to them in 24 hours I had the money wired into my account. They are pleasant and honest people who will take good care of you! I highly recommend them!

Absolutely seamless sale of a two tone Rolex Submariner. The buy bid was honored, no changing of bid after receiving the watch. As far as I am concerned this is the only place to sell your jewelry and watches. Paula was super professional and easy to do business with. I was a little apprehensive, but after reading all of the reviews, I felt confident, and so should you.

Yelp
I inherited a vintage Rolex. About 40 years old. Though I didn’t have the original paperwork or box, DEJB were open and interested in working with me. Paula Dabney was EASY, accommodating, knowledgeable and comforting during the process. The initial price she quoted me was the price we ultimately agreed on after inspection. The process was quick and efficient and any concerns or questions I had were answered promptly all along the way. I’d recommend checking out these folks if you’re interested in selling watches and jewelry.

While selling an engagement ring is never an emotionally fun experience, it was finally time to give it a new life. Working with Paula made the process so much easier. She is very professional and responsive, and showed a lot of empathy when I got misty-eyed on the phone. While I’ll admit to having been nervous about shipping my engagement ring off based on a few emails, the process went very smoothly. I was provided with an insured shipping label and instructions for packaging. I received a reasonable offer for my ring the day it arrived at their store. The transaction was settled exactly as agreed, and within hours of my giving final word. There is absolutely nothing to be concerned about in dealing with Diamond Estate Jewelry Buyers via the web, and I would gladly use them again.

Yelp
The people at Diamond Estate Jewelry Buyers were professional and courteous and offered a good price for my engagement ring. I wasn’t sure I wanted to ship off my ring so I researched the company as much as I could until I was satisfied. Sure enough, their business with me matched up to the reputation I saw online. I highly recommend them.

I had never sold anything online before, so was a little nervous about selling my Rolex. Based on Yelp reviews, I visited DEJB’s website and was pretty impressed. Worked with Paula to text some pics and got an estimate within hours. I got estimates from three other places and DEJB was right in line with two others, but was a touch higher. Based on the great customer service, I went with DEJB. Once I said I was in, Paula got me the prepaid, secure, insured shipping information within hours. Once received, they let me know my Rolex was as described and wired the full amount immediately. What else can I say? Fast, secure, friendly, fair – what more can you ask?

Yelp
Fastest and most honest experience by far. I tried selling my old wedding ring with other jewelry buyers last year but the process was so confusing and extensive I gave up. I found these guys and a few other sites online last weekend and decided to give it another shot. Carl and his team purchased my ring, received my shipment and sent the money (which was the highest and only definitive offer out of anyone) to my account all in less than 4 business days. The communication was thorough, timely, and responsive every step of the way.
Jevonte K.
Yelp
Carl is a very straight forward and honest businessman. I sent him some pictures and chatted on the phone with him for a few minutes, and then he offered me a very fair price. I was a little hesitant at first as I am not in the jewelry business and the idea of sending my jewelry across the country via mail was a little worrisome. However, this couldn't have gone more easily - he received the ring and paid me what he said he would the next day. Great experience and great business.

Yelp
Working with Carl was probably one of the most straight forward, uncomplicated transactions I've experienced. After leaving a voicemail I received a prompt text and then a call where Carl clearly explained the process. I immediately felt confident that I was working with the right buyer to sell my Rolex. After sending clear pictures of the timepiece, Carl followed up with a phone call and quoted me a very competitive price. We agreed to the deal, I sent the timepiece fully insured through FedEx at his cost and after he had confirmed receipt and saw the timepiece he wired the money directly to my bank account. I highly recommend working with Carl. He's a man of his word and runs a top notch business.

My name is Ron Hazel and I recently completed some business with Diamond Estate Jewelry Buyers. I found them to be very professional and straight forward. Paula Dabney did exactly what she said she would do and precisely when she said she would do it. She made it easy to understand the value of my jewelry. In this uncertain world we live in it’s nice to work with a company that is trustworthy and expedient.

Yelp
After reading many of the reviews about Diamond Estate on the internet, I decided to take the plunge and contact them about a vintage Rolex watch that belonged to my father and had been tucked away for about 40 years. They responded immediately and walked me through a very simple process to evaluate the watch and arrive at a fair price. The entire transaction was very positive, and I am really glad I discovered this company. I would definitely recommend them and will certainly do business with them in the future if I have any other items of value to sell.

Yelp
Exceedingly pleased and impressed with this service. I worked with Paula who is professional, personal, and accountable. Everything happened as said from beginning to end, which was hard to believe at first. I re-read reviews even after I boxed up my items because of the anxiety! Paula helped normalize a sentimental event and held my trust throughout the whole process (which was actually very fast and exactly to description). Highly recommended and would use again without hesitation. Thank you Diamond Estate Jewelry Buyers, especially Paula!

Yelp
I sold a diamond engagement ring and a wedding ring. Paula was exceptional to work with. She answered all of my questions and assuaged any concerns that I had. I know the price I got was fair, as I had a prior gemologist look at the rings, but I was not comfortable dealing with that outfit for reasons other than the price.
I am comfortable with my decision to sell my engagement ring, and I know I got the best offer I could get at this time. I highly recommend Diamond Estate Jewelry Buyers. Thank you, Paula, for all the time you spent with me. You have immense patience and empathy.

Yelp
When deciding to sell a special piece of jewelry, especially when you are sentimentally attached to it, it is very difficult to part with it. Then I realized that I would never wear it and keeping it in a box for years and years was useless. So I “made the call” to Lori after doing a little background reading of Diamond Estate Jewelry Buyers. I was apprehensive about sending jewelry through the mail but it went very well and I was pleasantly surprised. Am I sure I received the best price? I have no way of knowing, but I was happy with what they offered and I am satisfied. I will no doubt use their services again.
Kathi B.
Yelp
Thank you so much Paula for your professional handling of my heirloom diamond. When we first talked on the phone, your totally professional and knowledgeable demeanor regarding the diamond business assuaged any trepidation I had about sending my diamond. I was impressed with the way you shopped my diamond to get me the best possible price. When we agreed on the price the money was wired to my account within the hour. Well done! I will not hesitate to recommend Diamond Estate Jewelry Buyers to my friends and will tell them to ask for you by name!

Yelp
We had a 14 carat diamond and were nervous of mailing it out of state. We were reassured from the beginning of the easy process, but we decided to fly out to California to meet the people at Diamond Estate. From the very beginning we were met with professionalism and treated very well. After given a reasonable quote, we decided to get a GIA certificate for the diamond just to be sure what it was. Jackie drove us all over the place to different jewelers to look at it as well as the GIA lab. She spent a whole day making us feel at ease. Jackie took us around fully knowing that we could go with other people’s offers and still chauffeured us to each place. In the end we found exactly what we are looking for with the Help of Carl and Jackie. Great experience for 2 girls from Colorado. I would recommend them to anyone.

Yelp
I can’t express how much Diamond Estate Jewelry Buyers’ employees will go to bat for you. Over a period of 2 weeks working with them on a piece of jewelry and a watch, I truly felt they understood the way my wife and I felt about those two pieces. I especially want to thank Paula and Jacqueline for going above and beyond to get us the cash to make my wife’s dreams come true. Thanks again to Paula and Jacqueline for a job well done.

Extremely professional, kind, and intelligent staff. I felt confident selling my diamond ring because Paula and Jackie were honest, sincere, and communicative and made the process easy. I was indecisive because of the sentimental attachment to the ring but they were very patient and understanding. They didn’t just give me the quote, they answered all my questions and helped me to understand the specific reasons for the value of the diamond. I needed the money for medical bills for my daughter and it was nice to deal with people who I felt really work hard at, and care about getting the best price possible for the customer.

Paula was so great to work with! Very professional, and they offered the best price for my Rolex GMT II (over 2 other watch companies that buy used time pieces). No bait and switch here—take good photos of what you are selling and give them as much detail as you can so they can offer you the correct amount to start with. No surprises. They paid exactly what I was offered. Great experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their services to anyone. Thank you!

We contacted Carl to sell approximately 25 pieces of estate jewelry. He was extremely responsive and followed up the same day. His secretary was fantastic getting us an appointment quickly. Carl spent a long time explaining the pricing, appraisals, value, and process and made us feel very comfortable selling to him. We are extremely pleased with the entire experience and will definitely recommend him to others!

Contacted Paula about selling my Rolex watch, and was treated in a very professional manner. She talked me thru the whole process from start to finish; which made this transaction very enjoyable. I needed to sell a 2 carat diamond and based on the excellent reviews, I decided to contact Diamond Estate Jewelry Buyers. I sent an email with the GIA report details and within 30 minutes I had a response from Paula with an estimated offer. After deciding to move forward, Paula emailed me shipping instructions and a prepaid FedEx label. I shipped my diamond and everything went incredibly smoothly. Paula, the buying consultant with whom I worked, was incredibly responsive and knowledgeable. I am absolutely thrilled with my experience and would recommend Diamond Estate Jewelry Buyers to anyone looking to work with true professionals.
